Occam Recruits CFO to Tortugas Neuroscience
In September 2026, Occam Global placed Ramzi Benamar as Chief Financial Officer at Tortugas Neuroscience, a clinical-stage biotech company backed by well over $100 million in Seed and Series A funding.
Benamar brings more than 25 years of biopharmaceutical finance leadership to the role. He joins Tortugas from Apnimed, where he served as CFO. He has previously held CFO posts at BELLUS Health — where he helped guide the company through its acquisition by GSK — as well as Elucida Oncology and DBV Technologies. Earlier in his career, he held senior finance and strategy roles at Spark Therapeutics (later acquired by Roche), Shire, Johnson & Johnson, and Merck.
Across his CFO tenures, he has led financing rounds totaling roughly $600 million, and will now oversee financial strategy as Tortugas advances its clinical-stage CNS pipeline.
