Occam Recruits Mickey Atwal as CSO of eigenblue
In early 2026, Occam Global placed Mickey Atwal as Chief Scientific Officer of eigenblue, a pioneering Physical AI company that recently emerged from stealth following the merger of Gandalv and Motius R&D.
Mickey joins eigenblue following a distinguished career spanning AI, computational science, biotechnology, and advanced research. Most recently, he served as Chief Data & AI Officer at Flagship Pioneering, where he led AI strategy across the firm's ecosystem of breakthrough technology companies. Prior to Flagship, he was VP and Head of Molecular Profiling & Data Science at Regeneron and previously held academic appointments at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where he helped pioneer research at the intersection of machine learning, quantitative biology, and physics.
Mickey received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Physics from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Cornell University.
