William “Bill” Holodnak

William “Bill” Holodnak is the Chairman and Co-Founder of Occam Global, an executive search, advisory, and venture investment firm serving founders, boards, and investors across the innovation economy — from life sciences and deep tech to defense, robotics, AI, and venture capital. He co-founded Occam in 2012 and served as its Chief Executive Officer until 2026, when he transitioned to Chairman.

Drawing on more than 40 years of recruiting experience, Bill oversees Occam’s client and industry relationships and works closely with clients on CEO and board-level searches — the areas where his judgment and relationships have long set the firm apart. Before Occam, from 1986 to 2011, he created and led an international executive search firm operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of Fidelity Investments, serving clients including Fidelity, Venrock, the MIT Media Lab, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and New Enterprise Associates. A recognized authority on executive recruiting and organizational development, he has spoken at Harvard Business School, MIT, Babson College, and Northeastern University.

A lifelong supporter of the arts and of jazz in particular, Bill serves as a board member of Jazz Generation, a New York charity dedicated to supporting the jazz community nationwide. He previously served for nine years on the board of Berklee College of Music, where he chaired the Nominating Committee, and held a senior leadership role as board member and Chair of the Trustee Committee at SFJAZZ. Bill holds an MBA from Boston University and a master’s degree in Medieval Studies from Johns Hopkins University, and is a CPA in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
