John Holodnak

John Holodnak is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Occam Global, an executive search, advisory, and venture investment firm serving founders, boards, and investors across the innovation economy — from deep tech, defense, robotics, and AI to the life sciences and venture capital. He co-founded Occam in 2012 alongside his father, Bill, was named CEO in 2026, and sets the firm’s overall strategic direction as it expands into new sectors and geographies.

Over more than a decade at Occam, John has become one of executive search’s most distinguished leaders and a go-to specialist in deep tech and frontier technology, building the firm’s reputation among founders, boards, and investors seeking transformative leadership for the world’s most ambitious technology companies. Under his leadership, Occam has grown its defense technology practice by more than 300% in the past year and expanded a venture portfolio now spanning more than 50 early-stage companies across robotics, life sciences, defense, AI, and beyond. Before Occam, John worked across financial markets as an equity analyst at Crédit Agricole, a fixed-income analyst at Western Asset Management, and a currency trader.

John holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BA in French from Amherst College, where he graduated with honors, started for the varsity soccer team, and captained the varsity squash team. He lives in Greenwich, CT with his family.
